ARTIST BIO
“Return to your longing, it will teach you everything.”
- Sue Monk Kidd, The Book of Longings
Mary Grace Wynn is an artist based out of Augusta, GA. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The University of North Carolina at Asheville in 2013 with a concentration in Photography. Dedicated to film photography, 35mm and medium format, Mary Grace searched in earnest to explore human nature’s connection with the divine and each other in her solo exhibition Interpretations of a Flexible God.
After graduating from a meaningful college art career, Mary Grace took an unplanned break from art to explore business management and insurance sales. Yes, as sexy as it sounds. After a few years of growth in business management and many lessons along the way, Mary Grace left that career to travel and take time exploring what she truly wanted to devote her time and energy to.
Soon after, she created Wynn & Co., a European antique and home decor business that she greatly enjoys curating today.
Through the forced solitude of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mary Grace has once again found herself in a studio - eat, sleep, breathing art. A change from her previous art years focusing on film photography, Mary Grace is now working with drawing and painting. The freedom and accessibility to dig into different materials and see how they respond to one another have become essential in her latest work.
Focusing on the opacity and depths of color and the delicate addition of layering, Mary Grace has completed a new series of work titled Foliorum. The Foliorum series is abstract in form with delicate leaves exploring the organic movement and gentle folds of plant life.
Mary Grace looks forward to sharing her recent creations and continuing to explore form and color in upcoming work.
